…or in this case….Don’t Go!

The forecast in San Diego is rain all week! Christmas Day should be partly sunny….

As Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid put it…. “Raindrops keep fallin’ on my head!”

And Gene Kelly…. “….I’m dancin’ and signin’ in the Rain!”

I Heat the Rain.

The rain makes me want to cuddle up with a bowl of soup and a good book! (or a humorous book such as Chelsea Handler’s Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang)

Thursday is Thanksgiving (Duh!). If you have nothing to do….join in the Father Joe’s Thanksgiving Day 5K Run/Walk.

Born and raised in San Diego, we tend to forget what is available to us out here in our own city. Yeah sure tourists fun almost anything and everything to do, but when you live here all that fun seems to dissipate. Being a member of the USGBC (Untied States Green Building Counsel) and working on achieving my LEED Green Associate certification, I have found one thing to do on November 7th.

Green Home Tour : This tour features three homes in San Diego that have met the Green Building Standards (Green Certified, Silver Certified, Gold or Platinum Certified). I am going to this event and am very excited to see how the designers and architects have utilized our resources in a green way.

See you there! And remember to Reuse, Renew, Recycle.

Not Such a Mundane Monday

Good Morning! What a beautiful morning it is here in San Diego…going to be 95 degrees at our local beaches and 107 inland! WOW~ our summer came so late this year. Glad to see you.

Well, on my morning web search for the usual…I found the top 10 kitchen trends that have hit our homes. Here they are:

1- New family rooms

2- White Cabinetry

3-Stainless steel appliances

4-Work zones

5- Walk-in pantries (wish I had enough room to create a walk-in pantry)

6- Save and splurge strategies (save here but splurge there)

7- technology

8- Eco-Friendly products

9- Integrated appliances

10- Layered lighting

Friday’s Found Fun

I have taken yet another avenue in my career and have started an event coordination, IntoEvents. Currently, I am coordinating a wedding for next summer (and hope to do more). I am having so much fun with this adventure.

On wednesday, I was with a fellow designer and was running a few errands around town. She had taken me to the Wholesale Flowers and Supplies in San Diego. I admit, I have not been to the store yet and glad that I did. This is a wedding and event coordinators dream. I was so impressed with the items and the prices.

Check it out for yourself. Click here for there website.

Color of the Week

Inspirational images for ORANGE.

Now, I know that I have have blogged about orange before…But i have been so inspired by orange lately…why not do it again!

Here is an image that I have taken myself (I do photography as a hobby- not professionally).

Color of the Week

Mocha Brown.

Once again going back to the wedding coordination that I am currently surrounded by, mocha brown has been the inspiration. The bride has chosen her color theme for the wedding to be mocha brown and turquoise. These colors look fabulous together. Anytime that I look up information for this color, all I get are facts about the high calorie coffee beverage. So….here are some pictures to inspire you this week.

Not Such a Mundane Monday

I have recently found (meaning this past weekend), that I have a true gift for wedding coordination and planning. My brother is getting married next summer and have been recruited as the ‘wedding coordinator’ (loosely used). I have NO experience what so ever, but it is coming quite naturally to me. I am having so much fun as well. I am well aware of the fact that I personally know the bride and the groom is my brother and that alone makes this ‘job’ 100% easier. No bridezillas….yet. However, if I decide to continue on this little adventure and take on another bride or two, the odds are that one of them will be a b*tch.

Here are some great websites that are popular to the bridal community and have been helpful to me thus far.
